Sheffield named Swimmer of the Week

LAKELAND Rae-Lynn Sheffield, a 2007 Key High grad now swimming for Florida Southern College, was named Sunshine Stage Conference Women's Swimmer of the Week for her performance in Saturday's conclusive regular season dual meet with Daytona State College. This is Sheffield’s first notwithstanding winning the award.

The senior from Brooksville, swimming in her final dual unite for the Moccasins, won two individual events and swam on a winning relay band. She won the 400-yard IM in 4:44.15 and the 100 breaststroke in 1:07.90. Both times risqu in the top 10 in the SSC this season.

She also swam leadoff on the 200-freestyle relay that won in 1:41.02.

Full-grown softball leagues

BROOKSVILLE City of Brooksville Parks/Facilities and Sport will have three adult softball leagues (coed, men’s and women’s) starting in Walk. Men’s games run every Monday beginning on March 19, women’s every Tuesday commencement March 20 and coed every Thursday beginning March 22.
