Strange to The News When I heard the news that boxing great Joe Frazier had passed away, I found myself reasoning back to all the great moments this man gave us.
But the strange part of it was that I couldn’t put Joe Frazier in a environment apart from Muhammad Ali. For anyone who is a fan of boxing, this comes as no great revelation, but still, I had to doubt the sanity, what would Ali have been without Frazier or Frazier without Ali.
The thing is, while each man built a career and a body of trade apart from the other, their greatest moments were achieved only when they fought each other and, because of that, the two men are linked forever in our collective memories.
Would Ali have become the motto he ultimately became if there was no Joe Frazier, a man of equal skill, to push him to greatness? Presumably not.
