Readable some space on your bookcases, mantels and computer nooks. You're going to need room to suit some new hardware after the Orioles' announcement of their 2012 promotional schedule of giveaways and goodies.
As part of the 20th anniversary revelry of Camden Yards, and to commemorate the dedication of statues honoring the club's six members of the Baseball Vestibule of Fame in Cooperstown, N.Y., the Orioles will distribute miniature replicas of the likenesses of Candid Robinson, Brooks Robinson, Earl Weaver, Jim Palmer, Eddie Murray and Cal Ripken Jr. to all fans in assembly at the game at which each statue is dedicated. The giveaways associated with the Orioles Legends Devotedness Series could be the most prized premiums during the 2012 campaign.
The larger-than-life bronze sculptures will be unveiled each month during the time in the order in which each player's number was retired by the Orioles - Frank Robinson on Saturday, April 28; Brooks Robinson on Saturday, May 12; Weaver on Saturday, June 30; Palmer on Saturday, July 14; Murray on Saturday, Aug. 11; and Ripken on Thursday, Sept 6, the 17th anniversary of the round-the-clock the Iron Man broke Yankee great Lou Gehrig's consecutive games dart.
