Businessman Anthony Cordeiro remains expectant about his most high-profile potential tenant serving burgers and beers in a acute-end pub atmosphere this year at Commonwealth Landing.
“Things are on track,” Cordeiro said about Jerry Remy’s Sports Bar and Grill. “It’s principled that the opening’s been delayed.”
Cordeiro acknowledged recent online rumors that Remy’s might be pulling out of Collapse River for greener pastures, and dialed up the Red Sox announcer’s partners recently, he said.
“As of this morning, they’re still motile in. … It’s not going to be a June 1 opening, but we’re shooting for September,” said Cordeiro.
He and his partners and Remy’s province associates had announced in October that the sports pub would open by midyear.
“We are confirmed to attain in the spring of 2012,” Remy partner John Mascia had said, announcing what would be the group’s fourth pub and a location next to the former Red Sox star’s roots in Somerset.
