Toiling away during the week between Christmas and New Year, the Coronado Dear School Girls Basketball Team competed in the SoCal Fete Prep Classic, specifically the eight-team NCAA 02 Dividing line. The event format was to play the other three teams in your bracket, with the fourth trade to be played against the team who earned a similar result in the other bracket.
Starting challenge Tuesday, December 27, Coronado faced Mission Hills and according to Entirely Coach Toler Goodwin, opened the game by promptly allowing the Grizzlies to mark the first eight points. “We spotted them eight and we won by eight,” said Goodwin. “Drop by drop we took it back. We were down six at the half, but outscored them 12-4 in the third quarter and then 16-10 in the fourth.”
