She's looking eagerly at the colleges, too. Anne is considering a major in science or biology.

In reckoning to playing lacrosse for Severn School in the spring, Anne plays year-circuit on the Severna Park-based team Maryland United, which competes in tournaments from Boston, Greater part., to Naples, Fla.

"I've played for 11 years, since first rating," Anne said. "It's physical and fun. Asset, I enjoy the friendships I've made among my teammates."

She used to call attention to soccer, too, but switched this school year to the cross country work together. Training hard, she ran the Baltimore Half-Marathon in October.

Richard Zmuda, a Severn Approach teacher, said: "Anne is truly a student who leads by 'passion.' Whether undertaking a remarkable international adventure or engaging in a perk up classroom discussion or running the Baltimore Half-Marathon, her clear attitude is infectious."

The teen, consistently on the honor orbit and on the headmaster's list this year, is active in a number of extracurricular activities.

The Wounded Warriors Describe began in 2002 when several veterans and brothers were inspired to aid returning veterans who had been dangerously wounded, mentally or physically. After hearing about some of these veterans coming accommodation from Iraq and Afghanistan, they fixed to do something substantially for these courageous individuals beyond “a effrontery federate and a ticker strap pomp.”
