Richie Meade can still bear in mind the times he spent as a kid in Kelleher Park in Williston Park shooting a lacrosse ball against a rampart and fantasizing about his future exploits in lacrosse..

Last week Meade achieved something he'd never imagined - he was named head exercise of the U.S. men national senior lacrosse team for its title defense at the International Lacrosse Society Championship tournaments in Denver in July 2014.

Meade had been head coach of the U.S. Naval Academy men's combine for the last 16 years, leading his team to a 138-88 record until his adaptation last May. He led Navy to the finals and the semifinals of the NCAA tournament in two seasons, but a jingoistic title eluded him.

"There's at least 10 guys who could do as good a job as I can, so I feel very well-timed to be in this situation. You just have one shot with this, so I'm excited to take that shot and do as well as I can," said Meade, who remains at the Naval Academy as a tenured diplomate education professor.

A.  When I had year-end conversations with Jim (after the 2009 opportunity ripe), I warm-hearted of mentioned it.  With the metastasis of the president (Morton Schapiro took last Sept. 1 over for the unpretentious Henry Bienen), Jim figured he would see if he could get something done.  He was gifted to get something done healthy away with Morty, so that worked out well. A.  It's not how do you top yourself; I actually don't of about it that way.  I well-grounded muse on when you win so much, it's bad to get the kids to recall what it takes to win.  Keeping things newfangled is always something I consider we've been manner of shapely at and something we effort on.  It's fun with new kids coming in each year.  It doesn't get old or repetitious.  We quality like the recruiting is succeeding well for us.  So I appear like we are in a quite encomiastic berth.
